Grand Lager Brewing Co was in business from 1953-1965 at 300 Water & 3rd Street in St. Charles, along the banks of the Missouri River. The brewery was founded as Spring Brewery in 1852 by Prussian born Christian Heuser who emigrated to America in the late 1840s and settled in St. Charles, Missouri. It went through many name changes throughout the years until finally closing in 1970 under the name Van Dyke Brewing Company.
